Abandoned

Looking through the broken glass,
life crumbling around her,
she steps into her hollowed past,
memories never closer.

He stares into her empty eyes,
so different from before.
She heartlessly ignores his cries,
as is listening were a chore.
--------
She always used to dream of him,
how he would sweep her off her feet.
Now her spirit cold and dim,
so sick of battle then defeat.

    This was awesome girl, what you wrote just based on a title you knew you wanted. The flow was amazing and it was very heart wrenching and is something that affects your emotions and that's a great thing because that's what poetry is about! Very nicely done!! :)

    Wow. This piece is beautiful yet so sad. I loved the last stanza. It held so much emotion and truth. How you could dream of someone but then get so tired of fighting for them. I could totally relate. A very well written piece, loved the details. And the theme a great one to pick, love does often abandon people. I'm sure many can relate to this poem. 5/5
