Untrust You

by PinkyPrincess   May 12, 2011

Cliched promises,
unrealistic dreams,
meaningless words
shatter me to pieces.

Fighting strong tears,
bottled anger overflows,
indescribable pain
too difficult to conceal.

False accusations,
paranoia emerges,
hopeless feelings
make it useless.

Failed attempts to try,
questionable effort,
misinterpretations
take the best of us.

Lack of communication,
with an array of excuses,
deceit and dishonesty
bruise my elastic soul.

Hesitant, yet the decision has been made
beginning from now - I untrust you.

    Untrust,
this simple word alone is a powerful choice of a word,
a decision to untrust someone, and just like it is a process to trust someone i think it can be a process to untrust someone, to remind you that you now have to put up those walls before you so easily slide back into the way it was,
    had a nice pattern.
i like that the last line is so final, i imagine a strong woman saying this.

    Failed attempts to try,
    questionable effort,
    misinterpretations
    take the best of us.
--this was my fav. part, not sure if i have a reason, i just liked it :]

What can I say .. Exactly what I like to read in a poem.

Concise, direct, straight to the point .. The meaning behind this poem is really powerful, the decision to untrust someone is a really hard thing to do, because once the circle of trust is broken, its really fdifficult to find it again ..

Great ending as well .. No doubt its a 5/5
