Getting Through

I'm sorry - I know this is probably
the hundred thousandth time this week
well this poem is to remind you
that you have a friend in me always ready to speak

Whenever you need love
you know I'm always there
I'm always going to open up
you know I'll always care

I guess this is one of those times
where I am lost for words to say
I only want to help
but you always lead me astray

But if we can't be there for each other
what are Friends for?
I won't tell you to be brave
but I can help you up from the floor

I don't want you to feel guilty
that is not what this is about
Were just good friends
And I hate to see you pout

Do not give up
don't turn from the line
you still have your spark
and everything will be fine

I won't tell you to put on a fake smile
I will not abandon you
Someday you'll find your flame
everything will be okay

The sun shall rise again
You must believe with all your might
I don't know how it feels for you
But I promise everything will be alright

So please just talk to me,
for just a second or a long while
Tell me why it hurts so much
I'd do anything just to see you smile

I know this all sounds so cliche
But getting this through is my aim
Your worries will disappear
you'll forget they ever came.
