Thief of My Love

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 22, 2011

6/11/2011.

At night there were no restrictions

and the air was mine-

free to breathe, yet I watched my hands

as they shook at our heartbeats.

Ticking, writing memories, no hour

etched over us; I could not take his eyes

and place them on my soul-

for he was obsessed with spending eternity

chasing, chaining

the remnant of his life.
