A Ballad for Vanity

by Ramblings of an ageing Kid   Jun 26, 2011

I have lost my soul to the devil
Oh lord did I forever stray?
Well I guess I will kill, hate
And blacken my fate, Abyss is the way

Vanity, insanity, and faking reality
Are today's private lessons
Replace your goodness with mere obscenity
For thoughts of lust are in sheets of Lenin

Can't you all see?
The devil was lost the day he took my soul

I made a deal with the oceans to devour the earth
A deal with earth to defy the sky
A deal with vengeance to spear no lives
And send them back to the ruins near by

Give them no space to relive no faith
Faith is a hinder to those darkest schemes
Feed their minds with shiny vain mines
And watch them dig away from their dreams

Can't you all see?
The devil was lost the day he took my soul
And the devil cries, "What have you done?"
"You fool stop, you are going to kill us all"
I laugh and yet to pull the strings to bring our days to an end
So Mr. Devil, It's a matter of time before you have lost your soul

Really dark, mysterious evil in it, but guess what? I loved it !!

The devil was lost the day he took my soul
    ^^
I think its my soul that he took, not yours :P

The fantasy and the story you plot was amazing, it takes you to an imaginary place with every line you wrote ...
