A Fair Trade

by Rusheena   Jul 27, 2011

Let's make a trade

Let me have Your heart, and I'll give you mine

In exchange for my life, our souls will intertwine

I am but a shadow of our father's happy child

Yet I come to You, humbly, for something worth wild

I'll give You my pain that aches by day

You can take my sorrow that never goes away

Just make me a promise that I will remember

One that will cause my sweet surrender

I long for my heart to burst and bleed

To wash away the world and all of its greed

So You can reclaim my broken soul

And we can, one day, become a whole
