The Destroyer of Worlds

by Blutonium Boy   Aug 1, 2011

"I really love her," he said to himself,
Reaching down, tucking her things in a shelf,
A brightly lit smile traced his whole face,
As his hand slid across a big yellow case.

He pulled it out and blew off the dust,
He pulled at the lock and chipped off the rust,
It had been awhile since he had peeked inside,
He opened it gently and filled with pride.

For in the case laid a single red rose,
A card with her beautiful name embossed,
He picked up the card and opened it slow,
Reading every word it had bestowed.

Feeling alone his eyes filled with tears,
He had missed her a lot over the past few years,
He hoped deep down she was in a better place,
But the thought of her smile it could not replace.

He said he would love her to the bitter end,
He was hoping in time his heart would mend,
He waited and waited, it never returned,
He hated the feeling of his heart burned.

He put the box with the card and the rose,
Back onto the shelf in the spot where it goes,
Turning around he blew out the light,
White now turned to pure black knight.

How does he rise above the ash,
Living in a world where titans clash?
Sitting on the prettiest of shores,
Wishing to see a new phoenix soar.

As waves crashed against the sand,
Spilling their contents upon the land,
There was a stir within the swim,
Though the dream bird never came to him.

Falling down into the sand,
He leaned in and filled his hand,
Grains of brown, yellow and white,
Such a thought they did ignite.

A thought that caused him much alarm,
It made him stand and raise his arm,
Such is life living in a facade,
The realization of having no god.
