Milly's Last Voicemail

by Larry Chamberlin   Aug 4, 2011

You hacked my voice
you claimed my soul;
rotten bloody newsies
may you writhe in the hell
between print and page;
be censored and be censured.

I wasn't some foolish starlet
or mom who killed her kid;
yet you perverted concern,
tortured my family,
fueled false hopes,
just to sell out editions.

If I could move I'd shoot
headlines at your heart -
bullets of shame and misery;
it'll never cleanse your World of sins
nor wipe innocent suffering from
reflections on Veronica's Veil.
