Will You Be The One?

I stand broken,
Barely able to breathe,
I'm at the edge,
No one to rescue me.

I need your heart,
To keep mine beating,
I need your love,
To stop the bleeding.

For every smile,
My lips do make,
You're that reason,
I lie awake.

I used to be sad,
Feeling so blue,
It went away,
When I met you.

Tears would run free,
So difficult to conceal,
My heart became numb,
Nothing felt real.

The last one used me,
He pretended to care,
Took my innocence,
On a dare.

I wanted to believe,
He wasn't that way,
Lying to myself,
Letting him play.

All he wanted,
Was a night of fun,
I let him take me,
More times than one.

I cried so hard,
Depressed and alone,
He forgot me,
I became unknown.

It took a while,
To get over his lies,
Then I met you,
It opened my eyes.

I was so afraid,
You would be like him,
Use me endlessly,
Over and over again.

I took a chance,
Fell for your charms,
I want to be the girl,
Wrapped in your arms.

Will you be the one,
To kiss me sober?,
Will you be the boy,
I'll never cry over?

    I loved this. It really shows a girl who's been hurt and is hesitant to love again, but despite the hurt wants to fall. I think a lot of people can relate to this; I know at some point I could've too. It was very questionable about falling again, which a lot of people are. Very good, and very real. Love it.

    Awww.... such a sweet, cute poem.. that I think many people could relate to. We've all been used or felt used, and that can make us trust people harder... especially when it comes to love. It's that uncertainty of whether the person you love will make you happy or use you and hurt you.. you just never know! I liked the theme of this poem. Great job :)
