I'll Find You In Tomorrow.

by Poet on the Piano   Aug 25, 2011

Believing is so new to me,
how I relied on one man's
sturdy figure,
giving me something to dream on.
His smile of beauty
I could only hope was for me.
I lived for his affection,
for a sign I would know that
he was looking for me to.
But he moved on....

(and I bit back my self-deception,
saving breath for someone
who would be a permanent
fellowship.)

And the same name
kept appearing in my schedule,
a different man,
different natures,
different classes,
but something solid
to live for.

The contradictions made
have tangled my heart's speech,
yet I see this kind face
as always having been with me.

(attractions are found naturally,
from when your eyes took leave
and you only wanted
to be with him).

Once I gave up chasing perfection,
I saw the truth of life
and what it means to be gifted
with perception's eye.
