Love Me Anyway

Sometimes I feel I might choke on love,
it can seem so heartless and cold

My lips once the shade of rose petals
unexpectedly turn blue,
words lay as still as tombstones,
frozen in mid-thought

My gaze no longer flits about
in eager blinks
but becomes blank and meaningless,
like my shadow
all hollow inside

Sometimes love feels just like this
