This Man

by SunnyD95   Oct 6, 2011

This man could have changed the world
He could have feed the starving children
Who live in poverty
He could have made a difference
In the eyes of young lives
In the eyes of a desperate child
Struggling to survive
But instead he chose to watch them suffer
Most died in pain and agony
While others cried tears of misery

This man
Was supposed to save my life
The guiding light to bring me back
But dark shadows appeared
Within minutes they were everywhere
Swarming all around us
He did not fight
He did not resist
Instead he stood over me
With an solemn face
And as I looked into his eyes
I saw my fate

This man
This very man
Held my life in his hands

This man
Was to be the guiding light
To lead me back
To turn on the light
But down the road
He missed his turn
Just kept on going
Heading farther
And farther away from the light
But this time
I never came back
