The Tide

by Olivia   Oct 20, 2011

The Tide

Drifting in the ocean, all alone in the distortion, like a whispering voice moving with the tides, secretly as it hides

Swiftly but slowly as it flows through my veins, it has a existence it has always remained

Lying awake on this drifting bed, I can't sleep, as thought are running through my head

Bitter secrets told as lies, like a serpent looking through your soul with its snake eyes

Words of deceit, word of regret, how they can become misinterpreted

Stare at my face and look me in the eyes, tell me no more of your lies

Leave me to be peaceful, let my life breathe again, stop with the torment and stop with the games, I don't want your reminders, I don't need the pain

Washed to shore, the scares are deep from the devils claws

I turn my back to the turbulent sea, awaiting another day for it to come back to me

    Interesting work.

I believe you use a word processor to compose and then you cut and paste to submit the poem. However, that process can result in the strange characters you see because the site does not recognize non-ASCII characters.

You can edit the poem to remove these characters and then type in the proper ones (most often ' or " ).
When you compose your poems, hit 'save as' and save them as either ASCII Dos text or else ANSI Windows text. That will convert the poem to what this site reads.
