Misery's New Friend

by Kevin Manning   Oct 26, 2011

The opening of a door.
When all hell is revealed.
A passage.
To a new dimension.
Fear follows you the entire way.
There is no escaping.
You are trapped for all eternity.
Never to be.
Set free.
Life of misery.
Isolated.
From your impending doom.
It came to soon.
Run for the moon.
Soul left in ruin.
Outside the desolate room.
Painstakingly prominent.
Reciting an empty sonnet.
To the hall of dreams.
Ghosts crowd around.
To listen to no sound.
Telepathic.
Telekinetic energy.
Dive into your iceberg.
Indulge in those.
Urges.
Wants.
Needs.
The simplest words.
Can be the hardest to understand.
The hardest to take in.
And leave you more confused.
Take it all in.
This is your new world.
This is your new life.
Watch your past.
Slip through your fingers.
Grabbing at thin air.
Goodbye.

First of all I really like the title, it's eye-catching and pulled me in. I do like your descriptive words too, but I have to admit that you inserting a full stop after each and every line/verse makes reading quite tough and is somehow distracting. The feelings are there and I enjoyed how the poem developed. Overall I think this poem has potential, but needs some editing.
