Pathways To Beyond

by Kevin Manning   Oct 26, 2011

The beating heart.
Of a man face to face.
With his own shallow grave.
Pulsating.
Degrading.
Hesitating.
The mystery of awareness.
Face to face.
With your master.
Bow down and beg.
Go out there and break a leg.
Survival of the weakest.
Backwards.
Like a twisted game.
Built on the backdrop.
Of a morally corrupt society.
How did you lose already.
You still have so much time left.
Death is a wicked theft of life.
Seize the mask.
To hide your colors.
Down a few drinks.
For a quick disguise.
Hide.
Hide.
Hide.
Hope.
Pray.
That you don't get swept away.
