Nightmare

by Nicole Lynn   Nov 10, 2011

Collapsing to the floor, she stared at the remains of her broken heart.
Dreams shattered by everything that has become her past.
Soft whispers, "I'm sick of crying."
She couldn't believe he could break her so bad.

Through the years, its all been slowly fading.
Every last ounce of what once made her strong.
She's losing her grasp on stability alone.
And it's all his fault. He broke her down.

She became his shadow,
Her pain isolated in the dark.
Built her whole world around him,
Just to see it fall apart.

The damage done is irreversible.
Indescribable, unforgettable.
The best of her is gone.
And, baby, she'd kill to have it back.
