Winds of Decision ( collab with Sylvia)

by TJ Arizona Eagle   Nov 25, 2011

Temptations blowing in the wind,
offerings from invisible entities
that beckon and whisper.

Dare I?

Replacing what was once; eradicating
all doubt that obstruct crystal vision.
Intoxicated by the fragrance of danger,
seduced by the gamble of tomorrow.

Paying the high price of forfeiture
if the choices are barren, or woven
with deception. Treacherous roads
hidden among meadows of reckoning.

Dare I?

Confusion, ambiguity obscuring coherent
thoughts. Cowardice freezing ability to
choose the path of redemption, where
shadows strive to hide the truth.

Discord raining in the air of the soul,
so many roads to choose from.
Stillness abounds as night blooms,
time passes, whispers quieted.

I dared!!

First, I would never have guessed this is a collaboration. It was VERY well-written and coherent, which made it a great collaboration to read! I love the story you told in this poem, it's so suspenseful and was fun to read. I like that you repeated the question "Dare I?" and that at the end you said "I dared!" .. I think that was important for the poem, and made it exciting for the reader. I have to add that the word choice was excellent.

Great job to both of you! I really enjoyed it! =D

This is definitely a piece which talks to the mind and soul. I really love the great sense of wisdom in this. I think it's harmonious and thick by all means. Great thing, keeping in sync with the whole mood created. Excellent.

    Temptations blowing in the wind,
    offerings from invisible entities
    that beckon and whisper.

^ This stanza indicates that the author realizes about the multiple choices he/she possesses and the temptation to choose one over the other will soon grow.

    Dare I?

Should the author make a decision?. .is it appropriate at this point?. .Will he/she choose?

    Replacing what was once; eradicating
all doubt that obstruct crystal vision.
Intoxicated by the fragrance of danger,
seduced by the gamble of tomorrow.

^ This stanza is pretty much self explained, the play on words is beautiful.

The stanza describes how a vision once clear is now covered in mist due to the number of choices increasing, pushing the author further into the depths of confusion.

The last two lines indicate that the author is certain of the dangers and the circumstances that might emerge in the future upon making a decision.

Paying the high price of forfeiture
if the choices are barren, or woven
    with deception. Treacherous roads
    hidden among meadows of reckoning.

^ Here the author talks about paying the penalty for making a wrong decision which may at some point backfire causing damage to the authors mental abilities to make a decision. In other terms it could also mean, that at some point the author is not sure about his decision and may not precisely implement the decision to see a positive outcome for the path ahead is not what he/she had anticipated which may cause the author to falter and eventually give into defeat.

    Dare I?

^ Once again, should the author dare to make a decision?

    Confusion, ambiguity obscuring coherent
    thoughts. Cowardice freezing ability to
choose the path of redemption, where
shadows strive to hide the truth.

^ this stanza describes how confusion has gripped the author, and how he/she ponders upon one silly/crazy thought leading onto further such absurd thoughts.

At times the author does not want to make a decision for the repercussions could be fatal and it might not be feasible to right the wrong. Plus the author isnt aware of the typical hidden terms and conditions offered with every choice. *T&C apply sorta thing =)

Discord raining in the air of the soul,
so many roads to choose from.
    Stillness abounds as night blooms,
    time passes, whispers quieted.

    I dared!!

^ Describes how the author is in disagreement within himself/herself from time to time causing a notion of being smothered.

The author is hesitant as there are multiple choices, yet the decision has to be concrete.

But over time the author manages to make up his/her mind and conclude to a decision.

The poem in totality describes how the decision to be made is much a scene of dominoes, each piece that falls creates a progressive momentum leading to a catastrophe i.e the structure falling apart in a precise manner.

Very well written TJ and Sylvia.

    Very well done.

    My favorite parts are

" Intoxicated by the fragrance of danger,
seduced by the gamble of tomorrow. "

"Discord raining in the air of the soul,
so many roads to choose from."

I don't know how to put it with my own words but this piece said a lot to me. 5/5
