A taste of freedom

by The Po whet   Nov 30, 2011

I never asked for much;
a palace,a porche car nor a queen for a wife.
all I asked for were life's essentials;
good health,shelter,happiness and
a little love would do,
but these you deny me.

I thought you valued me,
I thought I was important,
yet to you I was of no meaning
a meaningless, meaning importence.

It is there all written on your faces,
"who cares?"
"I don't give a damn!"
so I'm left wondering
"the gods must be crazy"
if not then I'm the looney.

living a lie,you impose on me,
but that I won't lie low with.
"I'm I a circus?
or a form of sarcasm to you?"

it's only a matter of time.
soon my wings will
F L I P
and
F L A P
to
F R E E D O M
where I'll chose;
my life
my friends
and
my love,
a taste of freedom.

    I commend you in this piece- by the end you bring out this courageous side that I can't help but rooting on. I really liked how you explained your desires, their simplicity, and how you've been without even that for a long time because of this person or their memory. It was creative how you put in all caps the "flip" "flap" and "freedom". because it shows you do have wings, you do have independence, and you are going to find it. Maybe it was hidden for a bit, but not anymore.

    A heartfelt piece. keep writing!
