Inexplicable Distance.

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 29, 2011

The way you say nothing into your cellphone and how it leaves me
overwhelmed-
it will always leave my hands bone cold and my
shoulders shivering, even when I have gone beyond
feeling the air outside or the traffic lights shaking at me.....
I can't escape this telephone booth, for in some way I'm holding
a minute of you......there will always be your distance I can't replace.
Please don't even dream of speaking.
Allow me to believe in the mindset of my delusion-
it's the only way to end this
gut-wrenching chance....
Let the knife fall between our hearts
pierce the edges of our skeletons
make us grasp for a hand to hold....
but too late to walk with time.

We hope that the blood poured out
will touch our skin
and make us one uninterpreted idea....
that we were capable of truly loving each other.
