We Are One In The Same

by Robert Hamilton   Dec 31, 2011

I have a wire brush beard
My skin is like leather
My body abused and aged by the weather.

My eyes are just slits to see better at night,
To get through my day, i steal and i fight.
Every day my life is the same
You pass me by and toss me some change,

To add to my funds to get me my fix,
And after it's gone,i am back on the bricks
Looking, searching,to get more to ease pain.
You can't understand,because we're not the same.

But if you knew me you would see who i am

A Spirit
A Soul
A Human
A Man
