Loss

by Rusheena   Jan 2, 2012

My brain is in need for desperate hydration.

I crave for the slightest inspiration.

But my nights have caught up with me;

I walk the day in agony

My soles ache silently;

I react violently.

Yet, I have no strength,

as the day grows older;

I receive a cold shoulder

from the arising spring.

Still, weariness it brings.

My power source is fading,

as my ability is trading

for lesser capacity of skill;

this gives me less thrill.

    Love reading people's older work!

    I related to this in the sense of lack of sleep, you described how I feel when I do not sleep and I have to be sore the next day and walk around like a zombie with no energy at all.

    I think it also shows a lot about someone giving up, the tone of the poem hints at a part of hopelessness and inner pain that stops them from moving on to their future, like your title suggests though, loss can come in many ways, and affects us in many ways.

    You should come back to this and add in your punctuation for the poem, to help the flow for the reader because it is actually a great little poem. Thanks for bringing it to attention. :)
