Solitude

by Yakari Gabriel   Jan 5, 2012

Its almost one a.m
mother,

and I'm here...

embracing solitude,
and all the thoughts
that hold her hand-

did you know,
that the horoscope says
that Virgo woman
like me ,
are known
for having guts..?

yes, guts.

still I know not,
whether it is that
I do have them,
but I don't use them-

or,
that I want to
use them,
and I do not have them..

all I know is that,
I've been wanting
to change myself..

lately,
I've been falling
asleep wishing
I had guts
enough
to be..

the monster
your tongue paints,
whenever you describe me.

    "lately,
    I've been falling
    asleep wishing
    I had guts
    enough
    to be.."

heartbreaking. Oh I have read this poem so many times and just feel the anguish here, and it just grates my nerves and heartstrings every time I read it.

The ending stanza just killed me as well. You have so much to give, so much to offer, and so much pain and hurt along the way. Don't let the bad ruin the good.

I've written a poem under the same theme. Haha, what a conincidence, ha! =p

I like how you ended this piece. The first few lines were kind of optimistic, and here I thought your mother finally saw what she was doing to you. :( Now, cheer up and be a strong person that you are!
