Free Falling.

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 7, 2012

The air moves me up
while I push myself back down....
blood running
hanging off my skin cells
to be ready for the jump,
to feel the air turn into wind
and no longer
know of me.

I'm only asking
for you to swallow
the truth of your poison.
I walked upon the sun-
to trust you with my black web
and somehow
m o l d
it back to life.

You let go of me,
forgot I was standing by your side
watching as night after night
they cut into your heart
and tore tore tore
at the being you called
self-reliance.

I don't rely on anyone,
nature itself has shadowed
against me.

I am finally sinking back
to where I first was born....
but how can a mistake
reappear as lightness?

I fly facedown,
the sun and clouds above me-
they'll never get the chance to see
my last victory...
how I outran and overcame
the life they falsely gave.

I'm entering a famine I find
more likely.....the darkness
we always realize in the end.
