Impermeable Layer

If rain could penetrate the skin
Would it trickle down to my heart
Its already mushy and dripping
Its no uncommon work of art

If rain could penetrate the skin
Would it dilute my soul
Can I take back all of my sins
Or will it corrode an even greater hole

If rain could penetrate the skin
Would my bones mould and rust
Making me feeble and weak within
My life deficient of all trust

If rain could penetrate the skin
Would it filter my thoughts
Victory for my conscience running slim
A battle in heaven and hell's courts

If rain could penetrate the skin
Would it chemically react
Turning anger into love
And hate into a worthless act

If rain could penetrate the skin
Would it fertilise my mind
With rich nutrients from heaven
Leading me into a life sublime

If rain could penetrate the skin
Would it form clouds in my belief
Believing that someone else is king
An intruder posing treterously in my wreath

If rain could penetrate my skin
Would it flood my happiness
With rivers of joy and pride
Each new day fresh with brightness

If rain could penetrate my skin
Would all my seeds be drowend
Not letting oxygen or light get in
Stumping growth, incarcerated and bound.

If rain could penetrate my skin

Thanks very much for the positive feedback. Its very inspiring, I welcome anything you can throw at me I would really like to improve my poetry as some stuff I've read on this site has really blown my mind! Amazing, almost as if its hypnotised me and lead me into another world.

As I look back at some of the poems I write I improve certain parts slightly because since I joined this site ideas won't stop bouncing on the attention strings in my mind like a kid on a trampoline who won't stop until they get your attention...."Look daddy,...look"!

So when I write something I need to get it finished and up on this site otherwise I can't rest my thoughts. Hence slight improvements to the poem with time.

Does anyone else have this issue??

Poetry has been my best discovery for many moons! =)

This is truly a beautiful poem. It carries so much weight, sadness and happiness lingers on the lips. This is heartfelt and very deep. I loved the flow and the vocabulary you chose. You used less then common words in certain areas which to me made the read a bit more intriguing.

    Overall Job very well done!
