Shifting Dreams

by Lioness   Jan 15, 2012

Perhaps it was
the manner in which
you entered my reverie -
with such violent intentions
that would alert me
to your presence

I realized then;
the hostility you
bequeathed upon me -
had turned my
pleasant dream
into a nightmare

    Wow, this poem is amazing. I love the simplicity of it, and how there are so much meaning behind it. I'm very fascinated by dreams, and I love how you expressed feelings of fear and nostalgia in this poem through a dream that turns into a nightmare.

    I love this part:
    "you entered my reverie -
    with such violent intentions"

    Great job!

    It takes talent to speak clearly in just a few words to give the full impact of what you are intending to say. You have mastered that in this piece. Loved the wording and the whole emotional theme
