Love's Fortress Fallen

by Chad Picard   Jan 28, 2012

Love's fortress has fallen
where once stood the white bastion
now lie fields of salt

Broken under relentless assault
and betrayed from within
no stone now lays atop another

placid fields
and peaceful cottages
where once the townsfolk would turn to sleep

now became wildlands
and razed ruins
where ferral rams graze instead of sheep.
