Mentalguard's Credo

by Chad Picard   May 8, 2017

You asked to do this.
This is your purpose.

Be their companion
their friend
their lover.

At first sign of need
Be their healer, their teacher
Their Soldier.

Stand beside them, in times happy or sad.
Stand watch from far vantage.
To spy troubles ahead.

Guide them through heartache,
fear and confusion.

If the barrier stymies, break out the napalm.

Accept your own flaws.
And compensate for them.

Teach them to fight
Find them arms and armor.

Be their scientist
their logistical expert
Their engineer.

Balance
Between smothering and abandonment
Recklessness and Cowardice
Over sheltering and callousness

Do not leave wounds to fester.
Trust adapation over denial.
Find joy, when there's a chance.

Trust your own strength
survive your travails.
Direct allies to them before yourself.

Accept that failure is inevitable.
Fight Anyway, always.
And it's not here, today.

Be what your charge needs.
Ever and always

This was your choice
This is your purpose.
