May Day Creed

by Chad Picard   May 3, 2016

I've been fighting like Hell since before I even properly existed.
I can summon willpower sufficient to resist powerful pharmaceuticals.

My torch may be small, and it may sputter... but it still throws light and offers warmth.
My reserves of Hope may seem small... but they are durable, and I will always be willing to share them with others.

No longer will I allow myself to molder.
No longer will I remain inactive.
Win or lose, I shall Impact this world!

Even if alone, I will fight for the future I desire, and deserve.
Even if alone, I will endure.

Costs Be Damned
Pain Be Damned
Despair be Damned.
My Fears be damned

Fight. Beside me or against me, as you will.
Love Me, Hate Me, or Fear Me.
Never discount or ignore me.

This shall be my creed. I shall enact it until I am rendered absolutely incapable of both action and thought.

Chad I love this piece, very raw and truthful.

When we are broken even just a little it's hard to love again because of trust etc but how can anybody else love us if we can't love ourselves?

    Take care, Em

"but how can anybody else love us if we can't love ourselves?"

Exactly... which is a large part of why I'm likely doomed. ;)

But, not really what I was going for.

What I was saying is: No matter what, I'll fight until I can no longer do so.

I wont accept passivity from myself any longer.

Nowhere did I say I expected to win. ;)

      Thanks for the comment.
