I Want My Dad

by John Dlyan Boone BABY   Feb 1, 2012

Heavy drops of rain fall on my face,
mixing in with the hate
They bring me to the the days of my youth,
where i made so many mistakes,

I thought you would be here my whole life,
that you would always be my dad
Never did you care for me,
nor did the mom you left me with

You left me to be hated,
to be beat,
I felt like life wasn't real,
like it was all a dream

How many times did I close
my eyes and pray I would die?
Too many to count
Dad, why did you abandon me?
I thought i was your one and only son,

You left me to deal with my fate
all alone in this world filled with hate,
blood from my viens
pouring on the bathroom sink

So many times I have tried to be frank,
so many times I have failed to disappear.
Dad I cry and ask you to hear,
listen to the sadness of my soul

For once, i want to be loved in my life,
i want the sparkle to brighten in my eye,
i want you to find me
and bring me to my one true home.
