Her world

by DirtRoadGirl   Feb 1, 2012

The ash from smoke it sears her eyes,
the burn of vodka numbs her mind.
Broken words and trembling hands,
far away from a world she long ago left behind.

The bite of a needle piercing skin,
the rush of drugs you can't begin to think of.
Sleepy and hazy stumbling about,
in a world that's lacking love.

The feel of rough hands,
pushing aside clothes.
Breath on her neck
in a world where comfort is a man no one knows.

Walking in a daze,
shielding eyes from the morning sun so bright,
dirty looks from strangers,
in a world where no one understands her fight.

Falling to her knees,
sinking to the floor,
crying out his name,
in a world where her one chance walked out the door.

Broken hearted,
shattered soul,
a beaten lover,
in a world where she's lost control.

The ash from smoke it sears her eyes,
the burn of vodka numbs her mind.
Broken words and trembling hands,
in the world she found when he left her behind.

    Aww. Another flawless poem.

You can feel the pain as her one and only chance left along ago. Replacing booze and drugs in his place as no man even comes close to that comfort.

You can see this as if your that girl in the poem.
