George and Iris

by Karla   Feb 9, 2012

George saved me
when I was writing my epitaph
with a knife.
The window was ajar,
the glasses stained
and I was wrapping my arms
around the invisible clouds.

He told me to shake
the dust off my sick wings
and light a candle.
I should concentrate on the flames
because I was the flame, the energy,
the warmth I couldn't find anywhere.
He used to call me little star.
(I started to think I was one)

George taught me to believe in IRIS
-The Infinite Radiant Is -
and to bear up what I had to.
I did and I am still doing my best
to smile for George is worth any effort.

Once he said my poems were full of words
he couldn't understand the meaning and
that real love happens when we see the dance
in each other's eyes.

George is always right.
He is a singer, a painter and a poet.
He is a Little Star too:
The one that always shines
in my dark sky when I lay on the roof
at night and wonder how far forever is.

Once he asked me if
I could see Gods' truth in us.
George blessed me:
I can see not only the truth.
I can see the love too.

The poem below was written by George.

Bright Shining Star.
11/9/99

I wake up in the morning before the sunrise
I imagine your hair and the colour of your eyes
And I don't know your name or where you are...
but i know that your out there like a bright shining star.

As I stumble and fumble though this life of mine
I wonder about you, will I find you in time?
and do you dream of someone as I play my guitar?
Are you searching like me for a bright shining Star?

And I pray to the Heavens, that they'd unfold
and send me someone to love and to hold
A bright shining light when my world gets dark
Are you searching like me for your bright shining star?

At the end of the day as twilight grows near
I imagine your voice on the cool evening air
But until I find you and know who you are...
You'll be out of reach like a bright shining star.

And I pray to the Heavens, that they'd unfold
and send me someone to have and to hold
A bright shining light when my world gets dark
Are you searching like me for a bright shining star

At night as I lay myself down to sleep
I pray to the Lord, My soul to keep.
And I pray that He knows what's deep in my heart
As I gaze out the window at the bright shining stars.

Lovely poem, Karla... The first from you makes me wander through my eyes in the sky, like I'm on the roof. And the second soothes me, like I'm laying in a hammock. :)

    amazing.

    Wow

Ok so you can definitely see the love come through in your words for George who feels like your saviour. The way you have written about him is so wonderful. I mean you tell us how you were feeling but the focus was still on this one person whom has changed your life.
