Peaceful Discontent

by My Other Side   Feb 12, 2012

Before the dawn again I awoke.
Thoughts of yesterday gone unbroken.
Burdened by this yoke I shoulder,
Cast to the fire my thoughts to stoke.

Stars fallen to the grass now dew.
Shine on me still this day anew.
Wipe from my feet the path of yesterday.
Give hint to a way that's true.

Cool breeze now still and calm,
Soon to be stirred by the summer sun.
Delight me with one lost evening scent,
Play in the trees a morning song.

Ancient waters near the mountains side.
Release to me one key you hide.
I seek only to understand of truth.
Would but drink of you to change the tide.

Dear God in Heaven I make clear my plea.
Show one small glimpse to me.
A moment in time that I may change.
To undo... what I have come to be.
