The Guardian

by My Other Side   Nov 17, 2012

From within the boundaries of an unseen place
Walks the guardian with determined pace
Created by the consciousness of a single wish
Returns to her post just beyond the mist

Obscured in her eye is the secret behind the veil
Swirling in the winds of a mighty gale
Her eyes hold the key, a window to the space
She diligently guards that unknown place

Strewn about, scattered within the bounds
Remains of hapless Intruders can be found
Licking one paw to clean a bloodied sheath
Foolish in their quest, they also met her teeth

What lies beyond the veil, most will never know
Death is the reward to most who dared go
She settles back at her post with a sigh
If only... instead, they had looked in her eyes
