The Silhouette

by Yakori bint Muhammed   Feb 16, 2012

2010.

Walking by the pavement,
I see you watching over me;
like an angel in camouflage.
Quietly walking on the roadside.

In the dim light,
I spot you approaching,
taking big strides.
My heart starts palpitating,

In a twist of the moment.
Suddenly turning voluntarily;
in search of the inevitable, i'm speculating.
Static I see no one but only me.

Looking up I observe as the sunset hovers over me.
Far in the valley,
I stood in silence,
waiting in paranoia.

Suddenly tapping me from behind,
turning I see only me.
In distraught I became delusional.

Looking through the wall.
Smiling at me conspicuously.
In fright on the road, I'm in seclusion.

In fear.
Fear of the unknown.
Unknown to me you
where there from the begining,
So shall you stay infinite creeping around me.
My dear shadow.

    This was an interesting poem, I like the twist at the end! I like how you expressed paranoid emotions, and the fear of the unknown... I think that you expressed feelings people get at times.. sometimes people are insecure and not sure what's happening and are afraid. I love the title as well!

    Great job hon :)
