Nothing Inside

by Alleycat   Feb 18, 2012

My heart beats but there is nothing inside,
I am completely empty after everything I've cried.
Coming into my life was the worst thing,
and now there is an eternal wound that will forever sting.
Your embrace used to keep me so warm,
now it just throws me into a storm.
You came and took my heart from me,
and then you left with no pain to see.
You told me to stay with you forever,
but now I will see your words were just clever.
Come back and take me away,
give me a warm loving place to stay.
Stab my heart and end my pain,
because your love is all I wanted to gain.
Steal my breath and kill me at last,
just make me unable to remember the past.
Ending my life may be hard,
but my soul will never be marred.
As white and pure as the snow,
but now my heart has nowhere to go.
In your arms I lost my way,
and now I have an eternal price to pay.
