What he did for me.

It is my day today
No one will take it away.
It's my chance to shine
Everything will be fine.
It's my first date
And I just can't wait!

We went to the party
Just me and him
I hoped that it would be awhile
Until i had to go home again.
So we danced and danced
I was so enhanced
With my date
That I didn't notice the candle.
It was on this little shelf
All by itself.
No one thought it would do
So, so much harm
That is until,
It burned down the barn.

Everyone was yelling and running
As the barn roof was coming
Down so very fast
"How will we get out?
How will we last?"
My date and I got to the door
Just as part of the ceiling
Fell to the floor.
Right before it hit
My date pushed me out.
I was coughing very bad
I looked around and
I saw everyone was sad.
I was pulled away from the barn
Just as it collapsed and caused
So much harm.
Some ran to the hoses
And sprayed water everywhere
But we all knew
That nothing would be spared.
The survivors went to the hospital
And I had to go with them.

In the emergency room I ran into a woman
That was with a man.
I realized I knew them.
They were the parents of him
The parents of my date.
They asked me where he was
But I told them he's gone because
He had saved me from the barn.
I told them the story
While his mother cried
But they were grateful
That he had tried
And succeeded to save me.
I will be forever grateful
Of what he did that night
That was so horribly fateful.
