Eternal Pit

by Jack Nightengale   Mar 13, 2012

Its cold again, just like before,
Again I am left to rot, forgotten on this floor.
The sound of footsteps, the only thing I hear,
Slow and steady but, still drawing near.

It's peaceful here, is today the day?
There's no pain or suffering, please let me stay?
I'm the only one here, abandoned again,
My heart is shattered and stopped for my sin.

The footsteps are closer, I think they're here,
Frozen face down and, words are spoken in my ear.
"undeserving, untrusted, you will die with no host,
May your soul wander hell, forever a ghost!"

Set a flame empty and hollow,
Slowly standing, forced to follow.
Empty of water absent of spit,
As I am cast to the flames of this eternal pit.

You have a way with words, that can break a heart and bring tears. You have no idea the things you could do through your very words
Though sad and chilling it's beautifully written.
