The Nerd

by Mattias Ostling   Mar 20, 2012

His hobby, his life,
so closely entwined

From the age of Six,
it has been his calling
his life goal
and his desire

His intelligence is
abundant
But it is not always a
gift,
Sometimes it is more
like a curse

They say that where
ignorance is bliss
'ts folly to be wise
And as the years pass
the more he sees
the wisdom
in the words
And the joy,
in being ordinary

Too bad he was never so,
Too bad he'll never be so

What else can he do,
but try to find his way
Through darkness, and
loneliness
Through despair, and
agony

Though he has many friends,
he has,
No one he can call his
No one who feels like him
His Introvert design
Stops him
Controls him
and constantly reminds him
that he is incapable
of enamoring
for we are not there yet
nay, for being a nerd
is not the norm
But give it a few years
and hopefully it will be,
for both genders alike
and maybe then,
he'll find his love,
The One,
who holds his soul

The nerd.
His hobby, his life,
so closely entwined

I like this poem because of how it describes the nerd.

To be honest, this didn't leave a huge impact on me like your winning 'Genocide' ... overall, it is good,, but many parts, I felt like I was masticating words so harshly.

    maybe some fixes would help.
