Yearbook Picture

Hey, look!
Look at his picture!
Isn't he cute?

He's so cute!
His smile, his hair,
his cosmic eyes.

They're so intriguing,
so dark, so deep;
a spaced-out crater,
kind of like him.

He's mysterious, like a black hole,
and every time we talk on the rings of Saturn
I'm pulled into the center of his mind.

But, sometimes he's more like a reverse space tornado.
Instead of tearing through the world
and pulling all of the craziness into himself,
he pushes it galaxies away
so it can never come near him again.

I haven't quite figured him out yet.
But, I do know that I love the way he dresses;
A blue, black, red, or green T-shirt
and his typical dark blue jeans.

Surprisingly, I've never noticed his shoes.
I guess I've been too busy studying the dimensions of his face
and all of the constellations he carries in his smile.

He says that when he was kid
a traumatic thing happened to him,
but I don't know exactly what it was.

He may have been kicked off of a galaxy
for being the cutest martian. Or he could have wandered
onto the unstable part of a planet and fell down through space
like a comet, eventually landing on Earth.
That would surely explain why he is the way he is.

He's confusing, and strange.
He hates the color blue.
He says it's purple without red.

But he wears blue almost every day
and his favorite thing to do is to look up at the sky,
and watch the clouds from down here on Earth
while his heart is lost in space.
