The Leap

by Poet on the Piano   Mar 23, 2012

I saw it first in a dream-
but once realizing it was
a misshapen identity,
I decided to let the fake pass
and climb to the present
truth.

I believe there are miles
of beauty blooming to be seen-
with my black-and-blue
ankles and my angel of gravity.....
my eyes will level
on the clouds, and my feet will
no longer be shadows.

With faith, my heart will grow wings
and I will finally wake up....

Phillipians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

This is the first verse that came to my mind while reading your poem. I always feel a hint of spirituality/faith and God when reading your poems - and it bonds me to your poetry in ways I don't connect with others. I instantly feel hope, praise, glory... and just have this feeling of no matter what happens, God will pull through, He will prevail.

This poem is absolutely no different than your others and how it makes me feel. I get this strong sense of faith and how you just KNOW it's going to be okay - angels are God's messengers and they will lift you up in front of Him and answer your prayers.

Your second stanza made me think of Heaven with the beauty blooming and you being level with the clouds. It makes me think of when the clouds part just a little bit and the rays of the sunshine peer through, instantly I think this is one of the beauty's of Jesus - what a gorgeous sight to see, and how lucky are we to get to witness and experience that? No matter how unlucky we may feel or how many times we stumble and fall, all we have to do is ask and He will help us back up.

This poem, while I may have gone off onto a totally different realm, has made me think so incredibly much. So very deeply, too. This is a beautiful write.
