Rekindled Beats

I thought this was a sad poem. Love is such a hard thing. Can have it`s ups and downs. So what I thought

Explain to me why is it
that every time you visit
my heart starts to fight
the old love that you ignite

I liked this cause love can do that to people a lot. Old feelings of before can come right back up when they don't want them to.

Forgotten; you used to be
until I fool the strength in me
to fall for you again and again
I only cause myself this pain

This I thought was good cause sometimes it's hard for people to let go. So they keep going back again and again as you described.

But even after all these years
and a waterfall of endless tears
my heart still agnizes your voice
and I listen since I have no choice

Sometimes even after so long those memories stay with the person locked deep inside. You still have that little bit of want left even after all that time.

This feeling I will always shut
a thousand times I'm willing, but
deep inside I'll continue to hold
a secret that was never told

And this ending was great and mysterious. It really made the reader wonder what exactly that secret was.

All in all a nice job altogether. :)

Sometimes I think we have no control

Oh man, I was in this exact situation before. Its crazy how your heart will keep allowing you to love through tears and heartache....thankfully I got out of the situation, sometimes people come to the realization they deserve better :)

This poem was well written, very relatable, for me at least!

Such truth in these words to anyone who's ever loved and lost, it bears a weight that we have no choice but to carry, no matter how heavy on the heart it may be, and it is torture. beautifully expressed.

haha this one brings back the memories when I wasa teenager trying to convince myself that she didn't matter, then came the visit or two and i was back at square one lol. thanks for the memory boost

There's only ever been one female that's ever ever made me cry through a relationship so I can't say I fully know how this feels but I do know it causes a lot of anguish that could easily spiral out of control, I guess thats why so many youngsters these days seem to suffer from some form of depression.

This is a beautiful ending, there was one girl I never had the courage to tell how much I liked her growing up, but I knew her since she was a kid like me, we grew up together, keeping an untold secret like this stanza speaks of is one of the hardest things to remain only yours and no one elses.
