Sentenced for life

by Meme   Apr 23, 2019

Disappointment can be lethal
and I overdosed this time.

Back to my old prison cell;
my solitary, my dark place,
.
.
-myself-

I knew it was a temporary
curfew; my heart was once
convicted, and again it failed.

No more releases, no more trials
maybe some hearts should be
sentenced for life..

    What a return poem. Welcome back on board. No heart should be sentenced for life. It is designed in a way to defy all weathers and all storms. Trust me, it's mightier than any ship. Cracks won't make it sink. Keep it up. I loved this poem and missed your work.

    I guess I haven't commented before, but I love your poems and I'm so happy to see another poem after so long. There is a soft and longing tone in your poems which I love so much.
    I absolutely love the first line of this, it is direct and does not linger around, and how as it proceeds the tone becomes more and more heavy and slow. Sad but beautiful.

    I felt a heaviness in this piece and a sort of oppression of the heart. That you feel confined and whether that be situational, with a person, or in your thoughts... this poem spoke of vulnerabilities and a morose feeling that your heart keeps getting disappointed and you can't change that.

    So glad to see a poem from you, seriously missed your writing!!
