Jar of Worms

by Timothy   Apr 8, 2012

Scrub-each-other days, reeked out of shape,
(our hearts and minds were never fair in shape anyway)
nor shaped to mind step's fate; leaping from all fates.
You were kind, I were kind, funny how we'd squabble at times.
I guess it became too warm- steamed half the windows,
took a tedious approach on touch and mowed its own lawn.
With the couch-yawning signs of apprehension;
mowed its own tension.
But, let it be still the jar that we'd shake at times,
brandy, drink another, we'd shake hands at times.
From how far was it always the kinds, the sunny-sweets?
Happy rhymes?
One cannot pierce the I-miss-you times with a stain,
a stain or a fault, that made us shake hands at times.
I guess lust was sneezing at times.

Awesome poem! The title intrigued me but freaked me out a little, the whole jar of worms image came to my head and I was like ewww worms lol. Then I thought to myself if I can watch "The Walking Dead" I can certainly read this!

^ A super image, Timothy, portraying how much disconnection you two have between each other.

You were kind, I were kind,

    ^ I was?

This piece has a unique aura; some delicacy in thoughts... but it's mastered in wording and figurative language.

    The last line is stellar:

I guess lust was sneezing at times.

^ I had to ponder what you meant with this. maybe it's related to the 'jar of worms' (by the way, I think you were mocking the song 'jar of hearts' with this play on words?).... where 'worms' replace 'heart' ?

    Just beautiful, anyways.
