Skins

by Timothy & Decayed   Apr 9, 2012

Balancing appearance drifts,
One face to another lifts.
Mind's mirrors turn murky brown,
None but sinners in this town.

You think you'd know us, but no;
Well, they tried, ages ago.
Glass eyes turn brass at keyholes.
See yourself how a tongue rolls.

Spy upon those who can't touch,
All the fool's gold, all too much.
Though the eyes paint what is quaint,
Let all fools in, see no saint.

It won't hurt to change yourself.
I change skins - it's still myself.
Just replace mirrors along.
Can you tell the right from wrong?

None but sinners wait the while,
Change for love's sake; change the while.
Be that girl you strived to be,
make the oath, child, bare the fee.

Oh awesome. It is really nice to see a collab between the both of you. The both of you have unique writing skills and when you mold and mix them together it turns out awesome.

I loved the rhyming and images. The idea of skins - being who we are in our own body - taking responsibility for our actions. I loved this

Great job guys on your wonderful collab!!!
