Polished

by marilyn marti   Apr 12, 2012

Traces of myself linger way behind..
Broken pieces, scattered over time.
I retrace my steps, walk the line
I found a few pieces laced in grime.

Tried to repair the best I could.
Dusted, washed, polished them good.
A part of me felt it was proof.
A broken heart can be fixed too.

^ It is hard to label oneself as "laced in grime"...but have to say that after reading it twice I think the memory traces of events left behind that linger in one's mind sometimes haunt us for ever.

Tried to repair the best I could.
    Dusted, washed, polished them good.
A part of me felt it was proof.

^ And to go back and try to cleanse the "grime" and try to fix a "broken heart" is certainly a very good attempt to pick oneself up, however broken the heart was, and patch it together. For, everyone who has been hurt has to have courage to pick oneself and move forwards, some day.
Well done. Keep moving forwards. Looking back, will only bring more grief.
