Hardly exciting,
first ice cream truck of Summer,
it never flew South.

Wow didn't think ice cream trucks did that. But then again even when it's cold people crave ice cream. :p

Lol This was a great poem. It actually reallly stood out. It made me wonder, "How is he going to make this funny?" Then just this simple lines of words. Such a hot summer but the ice cream truck never came your way. Thought this was done well and structured very well. Great job. :)

Actually, the ice cream truck never went away - came by all winter long due to our year-long warm weather

I love this simple, awesome poem. Firstly, I get so excited when the sounds of the ice cream trucks come around at the park or the beach in Summer. As soon as I hear the music I look at how much money I have and think about what type of ice cream to get. With sprinkles, without? With choc topping (my fav) or with a flake mmm maybe all of the above lol

I love the image of summertime in this poem. It never flew south - I can sense the hint of sarcasm in this as well as the first two lines. Who wouldn't be excited over it! I loved this!
