I really like your poem, Thomas. Very amazing and meaningful...

Life sometimes leaves me blue
Choking the air out of me
Sometimes I forget what I pursue

--I like this part this is relatable...sometimes, in our life's journey we forgot what the things we promised before or the things we aimed.

Forget what I aspire to be
But then I ask myself
Am I a man of the future or the past?

--I like the words of choice here and the message behind..clearly stated and direct to the point. In the last line I love the question it is very meaningful. The persona here still confuse of his life circle..well, we can't avoid the past because it is string into our future--the most important is learned from it and live positively.

Do I put my pain like a book on a shelf?
Or do I make my mark in history and make it last?

--I like the imagery, clever. I like the ending too, great work:)
