Inch by Inch

by jeffery sechrest   May 23, 2012

As night turns to day
seconds tick bye with every inched gained
slowly closing in the two hearts desire

hot breath against the cheek
the bitter sweet taste of sweat
lips brushing against skin
as the heart beats faster

the space dividing
growing smaller with arms closed
time itself can not rush this moment
the one perfect moment when our lips met.

It was like a wild fire raging out of control
at that moment i knew what it felt like to be kissed by a angel
