Drunk bliss

by jeffery sechrest   Feb 20, 2014

Cold wind blowing against him,
another drunk stagger through the night.
Wishing it would swallow him,
like the whiskey he holds close
Stumbling around in a haze,
wondering if hes alone
Out of the night a flash of light,
ripping him outta his drunken bliss
With only enough time to wish she was his,
pain ripping through him
As flesh meets steel,
he captures her image in his mind
Still as beautiful as the day she ripped his heart out,
blood spilling from him
As hands pull him into darkness,
were he is destined to dwell in a place
That only fallen angles have lived.

I love this. I can picture it happening right before my eyes. Sublime.
