Flat lining

by jeffery sechrest   Nov 10, 2012

The lighting in playing across the sky,
As the rain falls on his head.
kneeling at her grave
wondering how this angel fell so far from grace.
Her face frozen in his mind
As his cry pierces the night sky.

tears flowing down his cheeks,
as his heart falls to pieces
her pain echoing in his ears
like a playlist of pain,
his heart full of misery
turning to black.

Spinning the revolver chamber
its weight so light in his hand
pushing the barrel against his temple
trying to force her image from his mind.

Thunder booming, as the trigger is pulled.
His heart flat lining
as the sun starts to kiss the sky.
